Matthew 16:24-25
"The Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." NKJV

This life of exercise is a journey of peaks and valleys but through it all, you can make it. The first thing that we need to do is not allow doubt to enter into our minds. This is done by denying ourselves and speaking positive words over our lives. Know that God is in control. Every word that we speak affects our actions or how we perceive thing to be in reality. Remember when doubt enters your mind to speak a positive word over yourself like "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." This strength can carry over into every facet of life.

Our cross can be anything that hinders us from achieving what God has designed for us to receive on this Christian Journey.  In following Jesus we forget those things that hinder our blessings and press forward to be new creatures in Christ. Remember this week to focus on saving your life for the sake of Jesus and you shall reap everlasting life.

Take this week to change one aspect of your fitness training:

Increase your Intensity

Lift more weight

Spend more time doing cardio

Just by making these subtle modifications will drastically improve your health and get you on the right track to Healthy Living

Hebrews 12:1-2
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" NKJV

This week we are focusing on finishing what we started. As you exercise remember that the goal is to finish what you start. Do not allow the challenges of life to prevent you from attaining the prize of life and it more abundantly.

It is better to exercise in a group setting or an environment that is conducive to you receiving growth and nourishment. Set a time that you can do and don't stop. This is a new year and we are making measurable goals. In exercise we have a principle that we live by and it is properly termed FITT.

F is for Frequency which is how often you come to the gym. The world health organization and other governing bodies recommend that adults are active for most days of the week (i.e. walking, running, resistance training, etc.)

I is for Intensity which is how hard do you workout. To achieve the best results for burning fat and calories there are 2 philosophies 1) do high intensity interval training which is sustaining a workout that causes you to go really hard, 2) low intensity  around 60 - 65% of your heart rate max ((220 - age) * .65). Consult your trainer for best practice.

T is for Time which is how long you stay in the gym. Adults are recommended to be physically active for at least 30 min most days a week. However if you want to see measurable results 60 - 90 min may be needed in order to see any weight modification.

T is for Type which is the type of exercises that you do. Vary your workout so that the body does not plateau and adapt to what you do on a regular basis. Use the "Rule of Six," after doing an exercise 6 times modify the exercise

Just by making these subtle modifications will drastically improve your health and get you on the right track to Healthy Living
